- To produce high quality pharmaceuticals at competitive prices for the Lesotho public health care sector and the private market
- To achieve the highest standards of compliance with international GMP and ISO regulations
- To secure competitive government tenders and provide essential medicines that are safe, accessible, affordable, and have an acceptable trace of price components
- To encourage the use of WHO up-to-date prescribing protocols and enable Lesotho’s Essential Drug List to be updated with affordable new drugs
- To enable cost-effective supply of Anti-retroviral medicines in single dose regime
- To export high quality Lesotho manufactured essential medicines into Africa
- To utilise indigenous plant knowledge and resources to create innovative natural cosmetics and complementary medicines for global export
- To support Lesotho economy with job creation, encourage export and African trade, and redirect GDP expenditure on pharmaceuticals to remain within the Lesotho economy
Sustainability
Legacy Pharma believes that being involved in Corporate Social Investment (CSI) activities is a reminder that we have a duty towards the development of our society and that life must be lived fully and with dignity. We have a responsibility to support and give back whatever we can to our disadvantaged communities.
We are truly passionate about people and the communities we serve. We believe that health is the true future wealth of our nation. For this reason we intend to bring hope to many Basotho who are beneficiaries of our CSI programmes. We are setting up meaningful partnerships to extend our goal of contributing to the development of our society and continuing the quest of ‘Adding value to life’.
Our key areas of focus are:
- Orphanages and children affected by HIV
- Entrepreneurial stimulation and education
- Rural schools and access to information and communications technology
- Developing knowledge of traditional medicines
Applicants should be registered as non-profit organisations. Please note that we do not grant bursaries of any kind.
Please note that no further applications for funding for Corporate Social Investment (CSI) projects will be accepted in the current financial year (July 2017 – June 2018). Applications will be accepted from July 2018 for consideration for the next Financial Year (July 2018 – June 2019). Only projects related to healthcare will be considered on merit, with no guarantee of support.
